The newly established North West CitA BIM Region held it’s inaugural event last Wednesday on the 11th of May. And what an event it was! With a brilliant turn out of over seventy individuals and dozens of local companies and institutions this BIM Region event was an exemplary one that showed what a drive there is in local industry to learn about and adopt BIM into practice. They’re a good looking bunch, as you can see from the photo above!
The event featured presenters and presentations from varied backgrounds in academia and industry. Ronan Collins, featured speaker at our May 5th Smarter Cooperative Building Series event, gave the keynote presentation to much acclaim. Dr David Collery, of IT Sligo, Anne Boner, Tony Carr and Ronan Gallagher, all from IT Letterkenny, and finally David Mullen, of Engineering Documentation, also presented.
Organised by Local BIM Champ Trevor McSharry, Head of Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at IT Sligo, the first North West Bim Regional Event was a roaring success and really illustrates the local thirst for knowledge about BIM and the growing expectation that construction industry professionals and companies be versed and proficient in Information and Communication Technologies.
