2018 Highlights

The Construction IT Alliance (CitA) had a very productive 2018 event programme, hosting several events in Dublin and throughout the CitA BIM Regions, and CitA’s annual conference CitA Tech Live had over 250 delegates in attendance each day.

CitA Skillnet was very successful this year, providing funding towards training and upskilling costs to member companies throughout 2018.

In this newsletter, we have rounded up some of the highlights of 2018, and what we are looking forward to in 2019.

CitA are delighted to welcome four new members to the Board of Directors:

We look forward to working with them over the coming years. We would also like to thank our existing board members; Paul Brennan, Emma Hayes, Dr. Alan Hore, Ralph Montague, Dr. Claire Penny, David Philp, Kevin Rudden, Dr. Ken Thomas, and Ken Woods.

CitA carried out the annual membership survey in November, and would like to thank all those who responded. The survey assists CitA in addressing members’ needs, and that recommendations are incorporated into services offered in 2019. A report of this survey can be found here.

CitA are excited to announce that the renowned BIM Gathering will return in 2019, and will take place in the new location of Galway, at the Galmount Hotel, September 26th. Further details will be announced in the New Year!

The inaugural CitA Tech Live event took place in Croke Park on November 8th & 9th. Presentations, video footage and photos from the conference are now available online. Click the button below to check them out!

2018 was a significant year for the Skillnet Ireland organisation, with record funding received from the National Training Fund, integration within the national workforce, and repositioning of the Skillnet brand.

CitA Skillnet are delighted to have secured funding for 2019. Full list of training courses will be available on our website in the New Year.

CitA has also launched the CitA Academy Portal, an online learning solution to meet industry’s training needs. A 12-month access subscription includes;

  • short video clips with subtitles
  • the ability to create playlists for personal or group learning
  • assessment-based approach
