Description and Dates for CITA's Events in 2014
CITA Technology Challenge Workshop
and Conference Dublin November 2014
10 groups (“partnerships”) of approx. 10 people, comprising industry leaders, academics and students, will come together for a 4-day studio-based workshop, where they will carry out a research project in BIM, to address some “challenge” in planning, design, construction or building operations. Each “partnership” can set its own “challenge” and choose their own tools, bring their own devices, but it should ideally involve some multidisciplinary collaboration through BIM. The “partnerships” can/should prepare themselves beforehand for the “challenge”, but most of the work should be carried out in the 4-day studio workshop, as the studio environment will also promote sharing of ideas. Key experts (industry or academic) involved in the workshops, may be asked to give short lectures during the workshops, in their area of expertise (again to promote cross-learning and sharing of information between the teams).
At the end of the 4 - day workshop, CITA will hold a 1-day conference, when the outcomes of the project will be presented to the wider industry with input from some keynote experts.
