CITA Construction Technology Series 2013

Making Business Sense of Smart Integrating

Construction Technologies and Processes

Following a successful BIM series in 2012 year, the 2013 CITA Technology Series will focus on the more practical issues of how we generate, manage and exchange information in the construction industry in a digital age throughout a typical project lifecycle. The series will look at the various project stages, from pre-design project planning through construction and post-construction facilities management, to understand the technology tools and work processes that will facilitate better collaboration between project stakeholders. Each session will provide insight from an industry expert, as well as inputs from a number of technology vendors, to help give members a thorough overview of the tools available and how workflows can be improved at all stages, to promote a more integrated design, construction and management process..

Coupled with the Technology Series, CITA hope to elicit a team of consultants to create a model and on a monthly basis present the single model status as it matures throughout the year. CITA hopes that this will cumulate in the presentation of the CITA BIM model, as part of a CITA BIM Storm at the proposed CITA BIM Gathering due to take place at the Guinness Store House 14th - 15th November 2013.

1st Event: Wednesday 30th January – Integrating Construction Technologies and Processes

This meeting will provide an overview to the series and consider how building information is created, managed and exchanged at all stages of the procurement process. It will highlight the importance of each separate stakeholder understanding the value of digital information received, and the impact of digital information exchanged downstream, to promote better integration for overall project delivery.
