Special Interest Areas are made up of networks of professional people interested in working to realise the potential for ICTs in the Irish construction sector.
Note: As of 2006, much Special Interest Area work is being carried out through the CITAX initiative.
Groups concentrate on separate areas of Construction I.T. and share the following aims:
Plan, design and carry out Pilot Projects to examine specific I.T. innovations
Develop Standards in I.T. suitable for use in the Irish construction context
Report back to members via Reports, Standards Conventions and Presentations
Organise information evenings and training courses for CITA members
Many member organizations consider participation on the CITA Special Interest
Areas by their employees to be the most significant advantage of CITA membership.
Groups are made up of representatives from different firms and across different sectors in the Irish construction industry.
Participation is thus an excellent way to meet others and learn from the experience of similar organisations who have already tried and tested I.T. solutions.
