Big Switch to Google App’s for Construction

At a time when everyone is focused on reducing costs and switching providers in the search for better value, it time you thought about your business software in a different way?

The construction industry by its very nature is a large project management process involving many different companies. The ease with which companies could share files, schedules and generally project manage is very relevant to Google and the way in which it makes this process so easy. With available appl’s like Google Docs, Google Groups, Google Sketchup, Google Earth, Google Maps Maps have many worthy features for the Irish construction industry.

Paul McEvoyof Baker Security and Fintan Murphy of Damson Technology will talk about web-based applications from Google, such as, messaging and collaboration platform that create tremendous time and cost savings for businesses while providing employees with powerful and easy-to-use tools that will improve how they work together securely.

Fintan Murphy - Damson Technologies
08.10-08.40 - Google in Business Today (Cloud, email, security, docs service etc)

Fintan Murphy is a Technology Consultant and Founder of Damson Technologies. Fintan has a Diploma in Business Analysis and Consultancy from the National College of Ireland and recently received a certificate in Leadership Management from I.L.M. He has worked in the Technology Sector for almost 8 years. His company Damson Technologies are Google Apps Authorised resellers and work closely with the Google Enterprise Team here in Ireland. Some of Damson's notable clients include Buena Vista International, Atex-EHL group, Volker Infra and Complete Highway Maintenance Ltd. Damson recently appeared in Business Plus magazine discussing the benefits of Google Apps and how Irish businesses can benefit from using cloud computing in their organisations.

Fintan is a member of the Business Analysts Association of Ireland. He is a Gold Member of Business Network International (BNI) and has just finished his second term as Membership Coordinator. Fintan speaks at business and technology events on topics such as Cloud Computing and Social Media. Fintan also speaks to parent groups at local schools about "Being a Parent in the Digital Age". Fintan lives in Clondalkin with his partner Lesley and their one year old son Ruairi. When he's not working Fintan enjoys rock climbing, kayaking and off-roading.

Paul McEvoy is a Cloud Computing ‘evangelist’ who has over 23 years experience in the IT industry. Paul has always been at the leading edge of technology. He started his IT career connecting ‘Dumb Terminals’ to mainframe computers with his own hand made modems attached. Today as he says himself he has gone ‘full circle’ and is helping Irish businesses connect to mainframes in the cloud via web based devices such as Netbooks and Smart phones.

A typical Monaghan entrepreneur, Paul started a number of successful IT companies one of which brought Citrix thin client technology to Ireland back in 1992.
